📋 What's New

A running log of studies added, bugs fixed, and improvements made to the site.
March 26, 2025
Fundamental studies expanded + GUI batch runner
  • Revenue Acceleration renamed to Revenue & FCF Health — now includes backtested forward returns for three additional signals: Rule of 40 crossing above 40, FCF turning positive (inflection), and gross margin expanding 2+ consecutive fiscal years Data
  • EV/Sales Z-Score renamed to Valuation & Capital Health — added cash runway section with trend chart (cash balance + annual OCF) and a ⚠️ warning card at the top of the report if estimated runway falls below 1.5 years Data
  • Fixed chart x-axis showing raw timestamps (e.g. 2025-12-30 23:59:59.999) — all Plotly charts now use formatted string labels (FY2025, Dec'24, etc.) Fix
  • GUI launcher rebuilt: study discovery now uses the authoritative SCRIPT_MAP registry instead of scanning all .py files — infrastructure scripts (ai_summary, report_generator, etc.) no longer appear in the study selector Fix
  • Added Ticker Analysis tab to the GUI — enter any ticker and run all ticker-specific studies in one click, sequentially, with per-study pass/fail summary UI
  • Added Collections tab to the GUI — run predefined study groups (VIX Suite, SPY Breadth, SPY Historical Patterns, Cross-Asset, Crypto, Ticker Fundamentals, Ticker Full Suite) in a single click UI
  • Fixed Options Flow and Relative Strength failing in ticker batch mode — each study now uses its own correct CLI flag (--ticker and --target_ticker respectively) Fix
March 26, 2025
Four new individual ticker studies + deeper fundamental data
  • Added Post-Earnings Drift (PEAD) study — backtests how far a stock continues drifting after an earnings beat or miss, sliced by surprise magnitude New Study
  • Added Revenue Acceleration study — tracks quarterly YoY revenue growth, gross margin trend, FCF margin, and Rule of 40 for any ticker New Study
  • Added EV/Sales Z-Score study — measures EV/Sales, EV/Gross Profit, and P/FCF against a ticker's own rolling history to flag when it's cheap vs itself New Study
  • Added Growth Stock Scorecard — a 12-point composite score across Quality, Growth, Valuation, and Technical pillars; score ≥8 with a technical pullback is the high-conviction setup New Study
  • Revenue Acceleration chart now shows 5 years of annual data as a backbone alongside the most recent quarterly detail — fixes the near-empty chart caused by Yahoo Finance's 5-quarter API cap Fix
  • EV/Sales Z-Score now uses annual fiscal-year data for z-score baseline (more data points = better signal) Data
  • Added Rule of 40 explainer to the Revenue Acceleration report (Rev Growth% + FCF Margin%; ≥40 = healthy growth company) UI
  • Added FCF chart to Revenue Acceleration report — FCF vs Revenue absolute ($B) and FCF Margin / Rule of 40 trend with a 40-line reference UI
March 25, 2025
Two-level sidebar for ticker studies + tag filter chips
  • Removed cluttered top-nav buttons for Options Flow and Relative Strength — replaced with a two-level sidebar: click Ticker Studies to drill into any ticker family, then pick a ticker UI
  • New ticker studies (PEAD, Revenue Acceleration, EV/Sales Z-Score, Scorecard) automatically appear in the sidebar — no nav changes needed per study UI
  • Added tag filter chips under the search bar — click any tag to instantly filter the study list (e.g. "VIX", "Ticker", "Breadth") UI
  • Deep-link hash routing extended to all ticker families generically (e.g. #pead/NVDA, #ev_sales_zscore/AAPL) Fix
March 24, 2025
VIX RSI washout indicator + breadth proxy notes
  • Added VIX RSI component to the VIX Elevated Days study — high RSI (≥70) flags potential VIX exhaustion and washout setup with a dual-axis chart New
  • Added proxy basket disclosure notes to A/D Capitulation, High-Low Logic, and Confluence Signals reports — clarifying that true NYSE/Nasdaq breadth data is unavailable via free data sources UI
  • Added Breadth Oscillator and EMA Dynamic Support studies to the manifest and site New Study
March 23, 2025
FOMC Effect, VIX Term Structure, and site navigation
  • Added FOMC Calendar Effect study — SPY forward returns around Fed meeting dates with pre-FOMC drift quantification New Study
  • Added VIX Term Structure study — VIX vs VIX3M contango/backwardation regimes and forward SPY returns New Study
  • Added Market Internals study — new highs/lows ratio and cumulative A/D line across a broad basket with divergence detection New Study
  • Recent Runs dropdown added to the top nav — shows the 5 most recently generated reports across all studies UI
March 22, 2025

  • SteadyTape.io goes live with the first batch of quantitative studies: Near ATH Decline, ATH Momentum, Mean Reversion, RSI Oversold, Consecutive Down Days, Drawdown Recovery, Seasonality, Sector Momentum, VIX Cross-Asset, VIX Optimizer, VIX Elevated Days, Ratio Z-Score, SPY Weekly EMA Launch
  • Options Flow and Relative Strength added as the first ticker-family studies New Study

SteadyTape.io

What is this?

SteadyTape.io is a personal quantitative research dashboard. Each study is a systematic backtest or scan built in Python, designed to identify historical edges and market context patterns in equities, volatility, and sector data.

Reports are generated locally and uploaded here — every chart you see is based on real historical data (from yfinance), not opinion nor AI generated. The goal is structured thinking about market conditions, not predictions. There are added AI generated assessments to help summarize findings, but they are clearly labeled and should be taken with a grain of salt.
